4/1/2024 0 Comments Computrainer skewer![]() I've been considering setting up a really heavy wheel dedicated to trainer use to maximize inertia. You're right that you don't even need a tire on the wheel with STAC trainers. Personally, I like the simplicity of just using the app to control the trainer without need for a computer, like how I used my old Computrainer with the wired controller. I've been beta testing the app and it's already pretty seamless to use erg mode, adjust resistance or even set repeating intervals. STAC just launched a new smart trainer (currently in pre-order) with variable resistance that can be controlled via a mobile app or standard software like Zwift and TrainerRoad. The resistance on those models can only be varied by adjusting the position of the magnets. You probably would have seen the original STAC Zero "dumb" trainer or maybe the power meter version. I like the idea, hell you don't even need a tyre on the wheel :D now if there was just a way to adjust resistance on the fly.
